Hello, this is a two minute video of Newt introducing Tina to Eleanor, the Cerberus he befriended in the stables. There's some debate as to whether Cerberus' require three names or one, as Newt explains, so Eleanor functions on multiple levels. From left to right, the heads are Ellie, Elle, and Ella. Insert miscellaneous Cerberus facts here, including that they enjoy music and are easily lulled to sleep.

He throws out a quick, "You should visit when you get the chance, Tina" and that's it. End feed. ]

[She doesn't have much of a mind for the network. Especially not when a glance towards it makes her question most of the people speaking on it. She keeps it, of course, just in case of an emergency-- more convienant than owls, but she doesn't expect messages-- Much less from Newt.

Even if this variety is endearing and she colors at the last remark-- An aside telling her this was most certainly directed towards her and not some stranger.

It's a bit before she responds and the camera's not the best angle, but well she's learning:]

[ so far, he has only used the network to respond to direct messages. hard to understand this sort of typewriter-y business on a large scale, particularly when lacks the interest to sit still and tinker with it.

when he answers her call, he's on a walk through the city. the camera's held at a decent enough angle, slightly off-center, so he doesn't stumble into anyone. ]

[ He's confused, and hardly notices the emotion in Tina's response.

Besides, it's been a while since he last saw her. ]

[Why this? Some anxious part of her almost decides not to respond. For as much as she isn't sure what she feels for the man in question, she knows it's a whirlwind all the same. To see him again here unexpectedly and find some kind of balance-- An understanding, a mutual trust-- just to simply have him disappear and forget.

It's a heartache she can't fully understand even if it makes her think of Queenie.

The man deserves an answer, however, and at least text is easier to deny the bitterness that would appear in voice:]

I'm aware. He saw fit to message me shortly after his arrival. I'm sorry I hadn't messaged you sooner.

That's quite alright. I had wondered, especially since I have found out that he has no memories of this place.

[ the idea that drove james to this is something of a convoluted one. it starts with moony, with moony leaving and going back to the pods, with james feelings like others have to know and should be kept updated with the information. that led him to tina goldstein, moony's roommate, a wizard from america and also the nineteen twenties. james had met her, during his first day down to the surface - she'd helped him through the transportation, down to the surface, and she seemed...nice enough.

but see, the thing is, james remembered her. and knew that she knew sirius, and also remus, and there's this thing about him where he doesn't really like the idea that his two best friends would know someone who he doesn't, and he also knows what it's like to lose someone you do know, and james just. is too restless to not try, now that he's had the idea.

so he goes for it. because why not. ]

[ She keeps to herself these days-- it's easier that way. Tina's positively certain Queenie would have a field day if she knew, but her sister remained in her slumber on the station. What she didn't know wouldn't hurt her. Besides Tina's tired of trying and losing people. She keeps to assisting people without getting close and to her work--

That's simply all she needs. Or more to the point I'll she expect for herself. So she's certainly rather confused when someone messages her. Poe is the only one that does so these days and, in some ways, she's avoiding him too. ]

I remember you.
It was some time ago now. He moved out after Cadderly and Buffy returned to stasis. If you're looking for him now I'm unable to help.

[ see, that's a lot of the problem, isn't it? james has been doing a good amount of it himself - hiding. when lily left, it was like a whole had been ripped out of him. and now without remus, it's starting to become too easy. he can feel it change him, slowly but surely, and he hates it. hates the implications, hates the possibility, so now he's making an effort - because when lily comes back to them all next, the last thing she is going to want to see is him looking like the way he's started to look.

which is how the idea came about. and why he's here. and why a part of him gets it enough that maybe this isn't completely out of nowhere. ]
